This French perfume house was established in 1961 by a trio of artists - Yves Coueslant (a set designer), Desmond Knox-Leet (a painter), and Christiane Gautrot (a textile designer). Their meeting sparked a creative journey that soon led to the birth of this collaborative venture. The brand was acquired by Manzanita Capital in 2005.
Several of Diptyque's fragrances draw inspiration from the three friends' personal experiences. The first Diptyque perfume, L`Eau, was launched in 1968, and its formulation stemmed from old English recipes for homemade fragrances. As a brand, Diptyque offers complete sensual experiences through its fragrances. The founders ensure that each fragrance is associated with a particularly evocative image. They take an artistic approach to formulate memorable perfumes that tell the story of a journey.
Diptyque has collaborated with revered perfumers like Fabrice Pellegrin, Daniel Moliere, Olivier Pescheux, Olivia Giacobetti, and Cecile Matton over the years.
Diptyque has a wide array of popular perfumes including Philosykos, Do Son, Tam Dao, and Eau Duelle.
